And perhaps no one embodies our Academy’s mission more clearly.

Our mission is to train healthcare professionals through fast-track programs who lead with confidence, serve with compassion, and elevate the standard of care — and LaShonda lives that mission both inside and outside the classroom.

🩺 More Than an Instructor — A Career Builder

For LaShonda, becoming a CNA instructor was a natural calling.

“I realized my heart was always in education and supporting CNAs. I love teaching the next generation of caregivers and helping students gain confidence in themselves.”

And that passion is evident in every cohort she leads.One of her favorite parts of teaching?

“I enjoy watching students go from nervous and unsure to confident and capable. Seeing that ‘lightbulb moment’ is always rewarding.” 💡

That transformation is exactly what Healthcare Science Academy is built around.

But what makes LaShonda especially unique is that her investment in students doesn’t stop at graduation.

As a Director of Staff Development, she actively helps our graduates get their foot in the door — creating pathways into the healthcare workforce, recruiting Nurse Assistant graduates, and helping them launch meaningful careers.

Because sometimes all someone needs is that first opportunity.

And once they’re in?

She inspires them to keep climbing.

From CNA ➡️ LVN ➡️ RN ➡️ leadership, she represents the career ladder that so many of our students aspire to climb.
